Grades

Activity aimed at all students. Primary

Activities

  • Water sports and activities: activities held at the Canal Olimpic in Barcelona twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays). Children in 1st and 2nd grades will carry out different guided recreational activities in the pool and will take a tour of the vertical park, which consists of a circuit of zip lines and platforms. Students in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grades will learn how to control a kayak and will carry out activities on inflatable water toys. Each activity will be directed by Canal Olimpic staff specialising in water sports.
  • Swimming pool: This is an activity that will take place at school. Under the supervision of teachers, children will be able to enjoy playing with their classmates in the pool, while developing coordination and motor skills during the various games.
  • Themed gymkhanas: weekly gymkhana full of games, activities, puzzles and riddles, art, sports and much more, through which they will learn skills and reinforce values such as respect, teamwork, effort, etc.
  • Art: we will experiment with different materials with the aim of developing their creativity and encouraging a new avenue of expression.
  • Multi-sport: different sports activities and traditional games will be carried out with the aim of enjoying and promoting values through sport, as well as developing physical abilities.
  • Dance workshop: theatre, dance and singing activities will be carried out. The aim is for children to learn through creative play and body expression.
  • Cooking workshop: we will cook different simple recipes related to the theme so that children enjoy both preparing and eating them.
  • Excursions: There will be one excursion every week (Friday), carrying out different activities.
    • Week 1: excursion to the Bosc Vertical forest park in Mataró. Children will follow different adventure circuits in the trees depending on their age and height, enjoying the zip lines, Tibetan bridges and walkways.
    • Week 2: excursion to the Olympic Canal. All students will participate in activities directed by the center and will end the day enjoying some free time swimming, supervised by the center’s instructors.
      Children in 1st and 2nd grade will have different children’s games organised. Students in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade will take part in an archery course. In this activity, participants will learn in pairs how to use the specific material needed, the basic technique and will practice shooting. During the activity, various exercises will be proposed that the whole group will do at the same time, guided by a specialist technician who will provide safety and fun to the activity, adapting it at all times to the characteristics of the participants.
      Students in 5th and 6th grade will be able to enjoy the “paddle surf” activity, also led by Canal instructors.
    • Week 3: installation of inflatables in the school playground and foam party.
    • Week 4: We will spend the day at the Tibidabo Amusement Park. Students will be grouped by age and height and appropriate activities will be chosen for each group, always under adult supervision.

Material

  • Navy blue shorts.
  • Campus T-shirt (two T-shirts will be provided per child.
    If anyone needs more T-shirts, they can buy them by contacting the tutor. The price is €9).
  • Sports shoes are required (no sandals or fabric shoes) to safely carry out the planned sports activities.
  • Swimsuit in their backpack.
  • Change of underwear in their backpack.
  • Suncream should be applied at home and if necessary, it will be reapplied throughout the day.
  • Swimming pool towel.
  • Flip flops for the pool.
  • Water bottle (will go home every day to wash and refill).

IMPORTANT: Every day you will take all your equipment home, both for sailing and for other activities. For hygiene reasons, it is necessary to wash it every day and bring it clean the next day.
We remind you that all clothing and utensils must be marked, to avoid loss and confusion.

Olympic Canal Material

  • Sailing shoes, not flip-flops. Sailing shoes are rubber, laced or closed, and non-slip. (In backpack). For students in 3rd to 6th grade.
  • Flip-flops for swimming pool activities. 1st and 2nd year students.
  • Boys’ swim shorts. (Should be put on at home before coming to school)
  • Girls’ full-body swimsuit.
  • Short or long sleeved protective shirt. (In the backpack). For students in 3rd to 6th grade.
  • pSuncream. (Applied at home and should be put in their backpack)
  • Cap or sun hat suitable for sailing (Must be tied so that it does not fly away when sailing)
  • Plastic bag to store wet swimsuit after water activities
  • Complete change of clothes to change after the activity. (In the backpack)
  • Towel for after the activity. (Different from the one they will have at school for the pool)
  • Another replacement swimsuit

IMPORTANT: All equipment, both for aquatic activities and for other activities, must be returned home every day. For hygiene reasons and to avoid possible infections through the equipment, it is necessary to wash it every day and bring it clean the next day.
