Mentoring Programme

A program for students to make better decisions at a key moment in their academic life. With accompaniment of the choice of their training itinerary and in the long term, their career projection.

Mentoring Programme 1

Objectives

Mentoring is aimed at 1st and 2nd year Sixth form students, with two complementary objectives:

1. Give them tools to decide in a solid and responsible way which training path to follow, with a view to their future insertion into the labor market.

2. Enhance the development of their decision-making skills and abilities such as discernment, determination and perseverance, essential for their personal development as well as professional development.

Methodology

A methodology for tutors to work with their students throughout the academic year.

The first step, the student obtains an updated vision of the characteristics of the current world of work and the trends for the near future. We work on the hard skills that are most in demand nationally and internationally, and on the main technological and social factors that are transforming the labor market. In addition, special emphasis is placed on soft skills, including a guide of the 10 most valued by companies currently.

In addition, the training itineraries that the student can opt for are presented – both Professional Training, with a practical and highly specialized profile for specific trades, and Baccalaureate studies, which offer more future professional opportunities and focus on in preparation for University.

Mentoring Programme 2

In addition, we work on the student's self-knowledge, using different tools:

  • Academic life line: It consists of a review of the results, the milestones achieved and the failures experienced, the interests and skills along with the expectations.
  • Personal questionnaire. A sequence of questions for the student to reflect on their aptitudes, interests, occupational values and their own profile in an agile, orderly and realistic way.
  • Semi-structured interview. Conversation between the teacher/counselor and the student, with the aim of developing a general itinerary proposal towards GFCM-GFCS-BACH.
  • Psychometric tests. Tools that are applied individually and allow certain personal aspects to be measured in a standardized and objective way.
